A Quality Representative, reporting to the CEO, is responsible for the maintenance and ongoing enhancement of our QMS to ISO 9001:2008 requirements for the business of DRAX(UK) Ltd. Head office and site activities are included. Core processes are monitored and analysed as a trigger to ensure customer satisfaction and identify opportunities for continual improvement. Accordingly, our quality representative, Mr. C. L. Brown, is available as a point of contact for clients in order to address any quality related issues. HSE POLICY AND CDM REGULATIONS

A designated person, reporting to the CEO, is responsible for ensuring compliance of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and subsequent legislation. Head office and site activities are included.

Where specified within a contract, project specific H & S plans are generated including suitable and appropriate risk assessments and the provision of resources and competent staff.

ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

Drax is committed to reducing the impact of our operations and products as well as being a leader in environmental responsibility.  We follow strict policies to ensure that the company remains in full compliance with environmental regulations where we do business.

Whenever possible, Drax conserves natural resources by using recycled materials and supplies, efficiently using energy and participating in recycling programmes. Drax encourages and supports the sustainable use of renewable natural resources.

Drax reduces and, where possible, eliminates waste through source reduction and recycling at company facilities. All waste is safely and responsibly handled and disposed of.

Drax develops, manufactures and markets products that are safe for their intended use. Our environmental policies and practices aim to protect, conserve and sustain the world's natural resources and also protect Drax customers and the communities where we live and operate.

We strive to incorporate our environmental principles into our business relationships and seek similar commitments to the environment from our major suppliers. We try to keep our customers informed about our efforts and welcome their feedback.

Drax sets objectives and targets to ensure continuous improvement in our environmental performance. We value employee contributions to our environmental initiatives and regularly review our business activity and assess our environmental programmes, practices and goals to evaluate progress and identify areas in which we can make further improvements.

We engage our stakeholders about our objectives and targets, and we periodically communicate our progress to the board of directors, shareholders, customers, and members of the public. 

ETHICAL POLICY

Drax endeavours wherever possible to procure product that has been sourced only from sound ethical origins. This is achieved through the positive examination of the declared sourcing policies of our prime product suppliers. 

EQUAL OPPORTUNITY POLICY

Drax Technology is committed to the principle of equal opportunity in employment. This is embodied in the staff handbook, which is issued to all staff when they join the company and states all company and individual responsibilities, acknowledges the necessities to successfully achieve these aims and refers the individual to a grievance procedure in the event of any alleged discrimination.

IT POLICY

Drax’s IT strategy is regularly reviewed at senior management meetings with recourse to outsourced IT consultancy. Development software configurations created in-house are Beta tested in-house and soak tested at a remote site installation for field engineer input and evaluation.

Proprietary virus checking and firewall software is installed on servers, all individual workstation PC’s and laptops. Frequent and regular updates are procured to ensure contemporary protection.

A regular, routine computer back up process is maintained throughout the network computer system in parallel with portable computers utilised by field and mobile staff.

All these processes are validated and monitored via routine internal audit procedures as part of our ISO 9001:2000 QMS.
