Job Title: Field Solutions Engineer
Location: Based in the UK with frequent travel nationwide (international travel possible in future)
Department: Operations
Reports To: Head of Operations
Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary Range: £35,000 – £45,000 per annum, depending on experience + travel expenses

About the Role:

We’re looking for a hands-on, customer-focused Field Solutions Engineer to join our growing team and be on the frontline of delivering and supporting our cutting-edge hardware and software technology solutions transform the built environment. This is a key role that involves travelling across the UK, Ireland & occasionally internationally to install our systems, troubleshoot issues, provide exceptional customer support, and make sure every on-site engagement reflects the quality we stand for.

You’ll coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery, resolve technical queries remotely and in the field, and spot opportunities for further work while on site feeding valuable insights back to the sales team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation & Deployment:

    • Carry out on-site installation of hardware and software solutions according to project specs.

    • Complete graphics and content-related setup (e.g., configuring software interfaces) to meet contract requirements.

    • Ensure all installations meet performance, safety, and quality standards.

  • Project Delivery:

    • Liaise with customers, site contacts, contractors, and internal teams to coordinate and deliver installations on time.

    • Provide real-time updates and documentation to the project team to support scheduling and progress tracking.

  • Support & Troubleshooting:

    • Diagnose and resolve technical issues both on-site and remotely, ensuring minimal disruption to customers.

    • Respond to support tickets or escalations with urgency, professionalism, and clear communication.

    • Provide post-installation checks and remote follow-up support where necessary.

  • Sales Enablement:

    • While on site, identify additional technical or commercial opportunities that could benefit the customer.

    • Report potential upgrades, remedial work, or service enhancements back to the sales team as qualified leads.

  • Documentation & Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate job reports, site photos, and service documentation.

    • Log support queries, solutions, and feedback in the relevant systems to help improve future service delivery.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Proven experience in a field service, installation, or technical engineering role – Ideally in a service environment familiar with our technology.

  • Confidence working with both hardware (installing, configuring) and software (basic setup, remote support).

  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.

  • Strong troubleshooting abilities, both remotely and on-site.

  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively across the UK (including overnight stays where necessary).

  • A full UK driving licence.

  • Familiarity with using tools, ladders, and safe site practices.

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience working with AMX, networking equipment, or similar tech installations.

  • Background in scheduling systems, support ticketing and CRM systems.

  • An eye for detail in completing graphics/content work to spec.

  • Ability to work independently with excellent time management.
